There's much to be seen around the world – especially in China – but what we came across recently is definitely an impressive architectural work of art. The Sheraton Huzhou Spring Resort – 'cause this is what's left us mesmerized – is located near Shanghai. This iconic 27-storey hotel is one delightful and most outstanding constructions in a while.
Oddly enough, the resort – built on the edge of the Taihu Lake in Huzhou – is shaped like a giant horseshoe, which is basically a subtle way of stating that the exclusive hotel targets the affluent business class. Sure, the shape of the resort was inspired by the traditional arch bridges – key elements of the traditional Chinese architecture – but we're not that easily fooled.
The Sheraton Huzhou Spring Resort will be at your service starting December, with 321 spacious guest rooms, including 44 suites, 39 villas and access to the hot springs – all at your disposal. And, if you're the edgy business type, you'll probably make us of the several restaurants, conference rooms, a ballroom and even a wedding center – that's a bit much, me thinks.
There's no doubt that the iconic shape of the Sheraton Huzhou Spring Resort reflects beautifully into the still waters of Taihu Lake, wishing you were there, up close and personal. Sadly, that's a privilege for the rich and wealthy. All we got – for the time being – are these pics.
