Etosha National Park in Namibia


One "the pearls" of Namibia - the National Park of Etosha ("large white place") occupies the territory of more than 22 thousand square kilometers in the northern part of the country, around the enormous tectonic cavity (millions years ago this it was extensive lake). Park is famous by its plant and animal kingdom (114 forms of mammals, 50 forms of snakes and 340 varieties of birds).



The preserve of Etosha, to which in this year were carried out 101 years, was formed in 1907 and was considered largest in the world to 1960- X of the years, when for its political reasons they reduced by three fourths. But also today it remains one of the large in Africa. In its landscape dense thickets alternate with the open plains.

Flora and fauna of the park of the National Park of Etosha is very diverse, here many representatives "large African fives", local elephants are considered as the largest in Africa.
